MS Schippers launches MS TerraFeed Fe: New piglet feed that prepares them for weaning
Rooting instinct turned into smart feeding
Piglets are born with a strong rooting instinct. In nature, they use this behavior to explore and to get minerals like iron from the soil. MS TerraFeed Fe makes use of this natural behavior. The feed has a texture that feels like soil, so piglets naturally start rooting and playfully take in the supplement.
Because the feed is freely available in the trough, piglets eat it whenever they want, based on their individual needs. By boosting iron levels and introducing solid feed at an early age, it prepares piglets for a seamless switch to weaning diets.

Early feed, better start
MS TerraFeed Fe is made with natural ingredients like fermentable fibers, humic acids, and iron chelates. The feed tastes good, is easy to digest, and matches the natural behavior of young piglets in the farrowing pen.
Strong growth results from field research
In collaboration with the Spanish integration company Coren, the effects of MS TerraFeed Fe were studied.
Piglets that received the supplement showed, on average, almost 20 grams higher daily growth after weaning compared to the control group. At weaning, their body weight was 300 grams higher, and by 10 weeks of age, the difference had increased to over 1 kilogram. Mortality rates remained similar (5% vs. 4%).
Previous on-farm tests showed strong results: on average, +8.25 g/L more hemoglobin and +250 grams of additional weight at weaning, and a growth acceleration of +35 grams per day in the post-weaning period.
