The Schippers Group opens office in New Zealand

The Schippers Group has opened an office in Christchurch, New Zealand. With this move, the company aims to be even closer to livestock farmers, in a country where dairy farming is an important sector. The local presence means products can be delivered faster and farmers get more direct advice.

The opening of the office follows previous international expansions of the company. After Canada, the United States, Vietnam and Indonesia, among others, New Zealand has now been added to the network.

New Zealand has been an interesting market for The Schippers Group for years. Not only because of the large number of dairy cows and sheep, but also because of the scale and professional approach of cattle farmers. From Christchurch, the team focuses particularly on the Canterbury region, where several large-scale dairy farms are located.

‘We want to make our knowledge and products available to farmers worldwide,’ says Terry Emonds, Director Asia-Pacific. ‘By having a local presence, we can better support livestock farmers on practical hygiene and animal health issues.’

The first introduction to the New Zealand market took place last month during the South Island Agricultural Field Days in Kirwee. There, the Schippers New-Zealand team presented the HyBag®, MS DryCare and MS AutoHoofClean, among others. The products caught the attention of many dairy farmers, especially because of their ease of use and focus on disease prevention.

According to Rik Mulder, Managing Director of Schippers New-Zealand, the emphasis is on practical, scalable solutions: ‘We see that our approach here fits well with the way of working. Farmers especially want less hassle and healthier animals. We are happy to contribute to that.’
