Calf nipple for use in conjunction with the calf drinking bucket & feeder for the same natural sucking action as experienced underneath a cow.
Many studies, tests and experiences show that if we feed calves slowly right after colostrum, we can avoid many problems. In nature, a calf drinks milk with its nose up, sucking vigorously for each sip of milk and producing a lot of saliva in the process. This powerful sucking in a natural drinking position ensures that the milk reaches the right place in the body. The oesophageal reflex is then naturally good. Thus, the milk flows past the rumen into the abomasum. This prevents rumen drinkers.
