The Camro CO² canisters are used in the automatic rat/mouse trap SafeTrap. The canisters initiate a pressure wave that cause the rodents to die.
The CO² cartridge is specially designed with a screw fitting to prevent gas leaks. Gas leaks are perceived by rats and mice, which would drive them away.
