MS Nitrogen foam refill is a liquid used to create foam with > 99% nitrogen within the MS Nitrogen container. MS Nitrogen foam is supplied in a 1 liter vial.
The MS Nitrogen is a new method to euthanize non-viable piglets. The MS Nitrogen container is quickly filled with large bubbles of nitrogen foam, after this the piglets can be placed in the container. The bubbles around the animal will break by the movement of the animal and from this moment the piglets will breathe in > 99% nitrogen. By capturing the nitrogen gas in foam, an oxygen-free environment is created. Nitrogen is for 78% present in normal air, so the body does not show aversion to high concentrations. Nitrogen, unlike CO2, does not cause a suffocation reaction and is quick and effective. The animals lose consciousness within seconds due to the absence of oxygen, making the process painless and stress-free.
