Tail biting or ear biting is a well-known problem in pig farming. This is often due to a feeling of unease, stress, frustration, pen occupancy or their ration. Due to the lack of fibre-rich feed, pigs or piglets cannot behave in their natural way. They bite each other's tails and/or ears out of boredom and frustration.

Hartog Lucerne is an artificially dried alfalfa which has been heated at higher temperatures and is therefore free of germs.
