What are cubicles?
Cubicles are a type of resting place specially designed for cows in dairy farming. Cubicles have raised edges on the sides and a low front to prevent the cows from stepping out or rolling while lying down. The surface of the cubicle is covered with bedding or rubber mats to allow the cows to lie comfortably and to prevent wounds or bruises.
Cubicle allows cows to rest and relax, which is important for their well-being and health. They are commonly used in modern dairy farming because they are more efficient than other systems and allow more cows to be kept in a limited area.
1. Comfort and health:
Cubicles offer cows the opportunity to rest and sleep in a comfortable and hygienic environment. They are designed to support cows and keep them comfortable while they lie down. This is important because cows lie down for an average of 12-14 hours a day, meaning they spend a lot of time in their cubicles. Cubicles are also easy to clean and disinfect, which prevent the spread of germs.
2. Improved milk production
Providing comfortable and clean cubicles is not only important for the well-being of the cows, but can also lead to better milk production. Cows that live in a clean and comfortable environment are less stressed and less likely to be injured, which helps them stay healthier and produce more milk.
3. Increased efficiency
Cubicles are also beneficial for farm efficiency. They provide a structured environment for the cows, meaning it is easier to feed and milk them. Making the cows comfortable also helps them respond better to the farmer's requests, increasing the overall productivity of the farm.
Cubes are an essential part of the well-being of dairy cows on the farm. At MS Schippers we offer Easyfix cubicles that are designed with the comfort and safety of the cows in mind. Below is more information about our cubicles:
1. High cow comfortOur cubicles are designed to maximize the comfort of the cows, which benefits the health and well-being of the animals. The soft lounger and the flexible and movable arms ensure that the cows feel comfortable and experience less stress.
2. SafetyThe flexible and movable arms are also an important feature of our cubicles, as they prevent injuries to the cows. The arms move easily when the cow moves, which reduces the risk of injury.
3. Spacious lying areasOur cubicles have spacious lying areas that encourage the cows to lie down properly and for a long time. This improves blood circulation and reduces pressure on the cows' joints, which promotes overall well-being.
