A smearing paste pest-control substance works based on a stomach poison. Thus, flies must consume it before there is any effect. Smearing pastes are particularly useful in animal housing, because they are very dusty areas where contact poisons lose effectiveness faster, which makes a stomach poison more effective fly control under those circumstances. Smearing pastes are easy to apply and are an essential part of successful fly control in the agricultural sector.
