The Bi-PILL is a sodium carbonate pill that encourages more drinking in calves with diarrhoea. The Bi-PILL may be used in organic production in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 848/2018.
The Bi-PILL is supplied in 20-piece packages.
In the event of diarrhoea, calves lose not only moisture, but buffers, which leads to a decrease in the pH value of the rumen with resulting acidosis and dehydration. Acidosis results in a decrease in appetite for fluids in the calves. Acidosis increases quickly, often within just a few hours, and the calves will progressively drink less. They lose even more moisture and buffers, become increasingly weaker, and ultimately die.
The Bi-PILL is given to the animals with the JUNIOR Pill dispenser
