Shearing sheep once a year is usually sufficient. An extra shave is often performed to prevent Myiasis. The sheep can be shaved or cut more easily if it has been warm for a few days. The skin fat will then become softer / more fluid, making the coat smoother. During shaving, the skin must be taut, so that there is less chance of injury. MS Schippers has various shavers and razors in the assortment.
