MS Broilercoating Basic is a single layer transparent coating on a 2-component epoxy; the coating is applied to a pre-treated surface and is essential to optimize the adhesion, quality, and durability of the coating.

MS Broilercoating Basic primer consists of an A and B component and must always be mixed in a fixed ratio.

  • Optimizes adhesion
  • Suitable for all types of coatings
  • Waterproof
  • Can also be used as a topcoat
  • Consumption: 0.60 - 0.80 kg/m² per layer
  • Color: transparent
Tips for users:
  • Cut large cuts (from 1.5 cm) in the concrete floor in their entirety with a diamond concrete saw. So that they cannot crack further.
  • Clean the surface by removing all dirt and grease from the floor.
  • When cleaning the barn, hose out the joints and cracks in their entirety (to get better
  • adhesion).
  • Blasting of substrate.
  • Make the floor dust-free by using a leaf blower to remove dust and radiation balls.
  • Fill large holes and cracks up to a maximum of 1 cm above the edge of the floor surface with
  • Soudal pur or MS Gel Repair floor repair.
  • The floor temperature should be +15 degrees at all places in the barn. a. The floor must be completely dry. b. The warmer the floor, the better the coating hardens. This increases the strength of the coating for good. c. Remove any puddles that may be present in good time and allow them to dry for at least a day.
  • Warm up the stable 24 to 48 hours in advance. Not on the day itself because of possible condensation on the epoxy coating.
  • Measure the floor temperature with an infrared thermometer.
  • Measure the humidity of the floor using a humidity meter (2 pins). a. <10% moisture is okay to coat.
  • Measure the dew using a dew point meter. a. You use this to measure the contact temperature, humidity and air temperature. b. Floor temperature should be 3 degrees above the dew point. To prevent condensation to avoid.
Composition:

2x Component A 20 kg + 1x Component B 20 kg (set of 60 kg)

Application:
  • Mark off the mixing zone with cover or construction foil.
  • Wear nitrile gloves, safety glasses and possibly a gas mask when mixing
  • of the products.

  • Pour both components into a large bucket or mixing tub. Mix component A with component B for at least 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Use a slow-turning drill with a mixer for this.
  • First apply coating to the wall or upright wall. At least 30 cm high.
  • Gradually spread the mixture over the surface with an epoxy paint roller, brush or trowel
  • The 6309849 MS Broilercoating Basic, 60 kg can be processed up to 25 - 30 minutes after mixing at a temperature between 15 - 25°C.
  • The consumption for a floor is on average 0.80 kg/m², depending on the substrate
  • After application, discard the tool or clean it with water.
  • Allow unused product to harden in the tin and take to a collection point for small chemical waste.
  • The drying time of the coating depends on the relative humidity and the temperature. At a relative humidity of 65% and a temperature of 20°C the following standards apply.
  • Taxable after 24 hours.
  • Mechanically loadable after 48 hours.
  • Fully chemically cured after 7 days.

Need help choosing?

A coated floor makes cleaning faster, easier and more effective. Dirt sticks less and bacteria like E. coli and salmonella have less chance to survive. This means less work during downtime, lower infection pressure and a more stable barn climate.

On the advice page, you’ll find out which coating fits your barn, what you need to get started, how to apply it in 10 steps and what other poultry farmers experience in practice.

Curious if it’s right for your barn? Click on the button and read more.
