Biofilm
Biofilm is a slimy deposit and is formed by ‘polluted’ water. Iron and manganese contribute to the formation of biofilm. To address biofilm buildup, Di-O-Clean can be applied to the drinking water system to thoroughly clean and disinfect the pipes.Do you recognise this water pipe?
Biofilm is formed when microorganisms start to grow on the deposition of minerals and organic remains inside waterlines. The bacteria produce a mucus layer that keeps growing. The pipes become clogged with the biofilm and become a feeding ground for bacteria and can spread disease.
