My water is treated at the source. Do I still need to clean my pipelines?

Yes. Even if the water is clean at the source, contamination can occur as it travels through pipelines. Biofilm formation is often triggered by mineral deposits or residues from nutritional supplements added to the water.

Can I use chlorine to eliminate biofilm?

No. While chlorine disinfects water, it doesn’t remove biofilm. Effective pipeline cleaning requires oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or chlorine dioxide.

Can I clean pipelines while animals are present?

Yes, but only with preventive cleaning methods. Curative cleaning products are highly concentrated and unsafe for animals. For continuous cleaning, use products specifically designed for low-concentration applications.

What signs indicate the presence of biofilm?

Signs include reduced water consumption by animals, changes in the taste or odor of water, and recurring health issues linked to pathogens. Regular inspections of pipelines may reveal visible deposits or slimy residues.

Is it possible to completely eliminate biofilm?

Completely eradicating biofilm is challenging, as it can quickly reform. However, cleaning with chlorine dioxide significantly reduces its presence and impact.

Di-O-Clean is applicable for drinking water treatment and cleaning and disinfection of drinking water systems in professional livestock farming. Di-O-Clean has been developed for use in pig, cattle and poultry farming.

Tips for users:

Store individual components in a dark place at a temperature of at least 10°C
Add the contents of the component B to the contents of the component A
Close the component A and shake it gently
Wait 30 minutes and the solution is ready for use
Dosing on the drinking water system using the appropriate Digi Doser Di-O
Consumption of the solution after mixing preferably within 30 days, and no later than within 45 days
Warning: Do not use the product in combination with oral vaccination via drinking water. Stop the treatment with Di-O-Clean from 24 hours before administration of the vaccine until 24 hours after vaccine administration.
